Once upon a time…
Legend 69 was founded in 2008 by Dom and the Marcs. The three boys started to write their first songs but realised pretty soon that something was missing. Unfortunately Martin, who didn’t want to join the band for any price, had to be convinced. No problem for the swiss boys – A couple of bars good, tasty swiss chocolate and a candle light dinner where fondue was served and “the dutch guy” became a legend. Then the whole project became increasingly tangible.
The boys played their first show at “Band-it” which is the local newcomercontest for bands. And guess what? They made it to the final and placed 3rd. After this kickstart the band got the chance to play another few shows. Dom, Martin and the Marcs fell in love more and more with the project and wrote one song after the other. Still everything started to turn out better and better but there was one thing to criticize. Nope, it wasn’t the bad looking of the members and nope, it also wasn’t the enourmus mess which the 4 guys had in the bandroom. The point was the (bad) sound of the singers Dom and Marc M. A guy or a girl had to be found who could take over the part as a vocalist and save the ship from sinking – Well ok, actually it wasn’t that bad. But still…
Thankfully at every show Legend 69 played one guy always attended. T got invited to proof his skills and sang himelf in the hearts (or whatever) of Dom, Martin and the Marcs. Finally Legend 69 was completed. One success chased the other. 5 Boys won the first Zurich Oberland Musiccontest, got to visit a professional studio (Junkyardrecords) for the first time and played several shows at different locations. They also signed up for the biggest newcomercontest of the world called “Emergenza” where they fought against 200 other bands. After a few prerounds Legend 69 ended up in Bern at the “Bierhübeli” for the final round of switzerland. They took home the 3rd place and a lot of new experiences.
In 2010 Legend 69 got their first record deal from “Peak Level Productions, Switzerland” where they recorded their first demo tape “Deadline Day” which got released together with the video “Deadline Day” in January 2011. In association with “Peak Level Productions” the band released two more songs befor the collaboration had to be endend.
The Legends got accomodated by “Hard Attack Records” and a stranger producer called Patrick “P” Jobin who is willing to release the greatest album ever! To be honsest, that’s what the 5 weirdos say… Me for my part can hardly wait how this fairy tale will end. I hope your as excited as me and you keep pursueing the story… Stay tuned!
